Abhay (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is an NRI living in Mumbai, faced with the overwhelming feelings of dislocation and loneliness. He returns to the city to start a new business and is shocked by how unwelcoming Mumbai has become. Abhay soon meets a beautiful young model named Shalmili at a club, and the two become seriously infatuated. Abhay and Shalmili begin spending a great deal of time together, and Abhay begins to experience the city of Mumbai through the effervescent Shalmili.

Tilak (Tusshar Kapoor) is a mercurial bootlegger with a conscience. He spends most of his time with his fellow cohorts, Mandook and Ramesh, plotting heists and planning scams. Tilak is the brains of the operation, and his friends depend on his leadership and guidance. Lately, things have been a little rough for Talik and his lackeys, as the newlywed Tilak is beginning to spend more time with his wife. After a heist goes terribly wrong, and the gang accidently detonates a bomb on a local train, Tilak wants even less to do with his thieving ways. Tilak is about to give up his life of crime, but not before his friends wrangle him into one last score.

Sawan (Sundeep Kishan) is a desperate young man. He needs to make it onto an official cricket team, he needs to marry the love of his life, and he needs to not get swallowed up in the mean streets of Mumbai. Sawan will go to extreme lengths to secure a future with his true love, but the cost of happiness might just be too great.

Shor in the City has been featured in numerous film festivals, including the Dubai International Film Festival and the Pusan International Film Festival. The film also won Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK the Best Director award at the MIAAC in New York.
