The film also stars Tanuja, Sanjay Mishra, Delnaz Paul and Mukesh Tiwari in lead roles, alongside a bunch of animated characters. Toonpur Ka Superrhero is reportedly India's first live action - 3D animation combination feature film.

Ajay portrays Aditya, Kajol plays Priya, Amey Pandya stars as Kabeer, Chinki Jaiswal as Raima, Sanjay Mishra as Shyam, Delnaz Paul as Ramola, Mukesh Tiwari as Inspector Kitkite, while Tanuja and Raza Murad are set to make special appearances.

Aditya, a movie star, and his wife Priya have everything they could ever want. However, their kids, Kabeer and Raima, dream of having a normal father who is a hero in real life more so than in movies.

One day, Aditya finds himself in a place called Toonpur, his children’s favorite cartoon land. In Toonpur, the father of two gets the chance to prove to his kids that he can be a real life hero as he has to fight the Toonasurs (bad toons) in order to save the Devtoons (good toons.)

“Toonpur Ka Superrhero is a cute and endearing animation film with Ajay Devgan and Kajol caught up in the war of the toons! A loving father and family man who is a reel life hero and who accidentally lands in the world of cartoons and becomes a real life hero!” Kiran Khurana told reporters during the movie’s music launch.

“It’s been a casting coup for us with Ajay-Kajol and Tanuja mirroring their respective real-life relationship. It’s just the way we had planned and visualized it at the script level,” the director told the Times of India.

After a few delays, the film is set to release on December 24.
