DH! Interview: Priyanka Chopra Dishes About Going from B-town to Berlin to the Grammys!

Jet setting around the world representing Bollywood, Hollywood and the American music industry, Priyanka Chopra is truly a global superstar!

Aside from acting in recent Bollywood box office hits such as her film Agneepath, Chopra also recently signed with the Creative Artists Agency to kick off her Hollywood career, and she left the world abuzz by signing to Desi Hits! Universal to begin her American music career!

She'll be in three different countries all in one weekend. Kicking off in B-town, then traveling to the Berlin Film Festival for the screening of “Don 2,” and ending her weekend by attending the most coveted awards show in the American music industry, the Grammys on Sunday.

So how does Miss Chopra relax? Priyanka says, “There is no time to relax… but I wouldn’t want it any other way! I love what I do and feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to be a part of so many amazing things!”

From music to having the opportunity to make movies in Hollywood, and Bollywood, Priyanka has incredible opportunities and it’s good to know that Priyanka appreciates it.

Several people hope to make it to the Berlin Film festival, and Priyanka is attending with the entire cast of “Don 2,” for their press screening.

So has PC already had this amazing experience before?  She says, “No, this is my first time.  My film Saat Khoon Maaf ( 7 Sins Forgiven) was showcased at the festival last year.  Unfortunately due to a prior commitment on a film I was shooting at the time, I could not make it.  I’m really excited to be back in Berlin and also to be a part of the Berlinale.  I’m so glad we are here in full force… the full team of Don 2.  It’s almost like coming full circle… since we started this film right here in Berlin.”

So what are PC’s expectations for such a coveted festival?  Priyanka Chopra says, “ I’m just looking forward to being back in Berlin and also to experience first hand, the Berlin film Festival, which is a very prestigious event in the calendar of world cinema.  I love the people in Berlin, who despite the cultural and language differences, have embraced Hindi cinema completely and totally.  The love and support they have shown us in tremendous, during the shooting of the film and even now at the Berlinale.  It’s truly special.”

Right after the festival the excitement continues for Priyanka Chopra as she heads off to the most popular awards shows for the American music industry, The Grammys, what brings her there?

She says, “Actually, my team who is involved in my music foray invited me to attend the Grammys. We've all grown up on the magic of the Grammy's and I thought that this would be a great opportunity to experience it first hand.”  Is there anyone PC looks forwarding to hanging with at the Grammys?  “Actually I’m most excited to be seeing everyone again… Jimmy Iovine, Anjula Acharia bath, Troy Carter and the rest of my team here.  I’ve been away for a few months so it will be great to spend some time with them again and without work getting in the way.”

I can’t help, but wonder who Priyanka Chopra is rooting for at the Grammys this year?

“No one in particular yet at the same time…everyone! I know that’s a strange answer but I can’t pick.  It’s such a big night and everyone who is nominated deserves to win.  But yes I do have some favorites… Adele, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga and Rihanna to name a few!”

Being that it’s Priyanka Chopra’s first time at the Grammys we wonder what she expects, “ Honestly, I am just here to enjoy myself and to soak in the experience of the Grammys. For a change it will actually be fun to actually enjoy the evening as it unfolds... since I’m neither nominee, performer or host! I’m really looking forward to the performances.”
