From discovering some of the hottest artist of today including pop star Jay Sean, and Bhangra sensation Juggy D, to remixing tracks for famous acts such as Britney Spears, and most recently up and coming group, Mindless Behavior, Brit-Asian producer Rishi Rich is a world renowned for his talent.

That’s exactly why this week is officially “I Heart Rishi Rich Week.”   Recently remixing the track for Mindless Behavior,  Rishi Rich reminded us of how he cleverly introduced Desi beats into the mainstream by his popular remixes that put a Desi sound onto hit tracks by artists such as Madonna, Craig David and many more.   

Rishi Rich not only introduced these beats into the mainstream, but gave young South Asians around the world music that they could resonate with.

 Also known as Rishpal Singh Rekhi, Rishi Rich is considered to be a pioneer of Indian-R&B fusion music. The producer introduced the underground Brit-Asian scene to the world, and became a role model to young Desis. Rishi Rich mentored several Asian acts and introduced them through his projects such as “ The Rishi Rich Project,” which was an album featuring artists such as Jay Sean, and Juggy D.

Rishi’s talent is now well known in Bollywood as well, and his artists and tracks have been featured in Bollywood films, such as the 2005 film, kya kool hai hum,  and endorsed by famous B-town personalities including Abhishek Bachchan. Rishi Rich first solo album was entitled, “Simply Rich.”  The album  which fused together  Bhangra and Urban beats was a massive hit in Asian pop charts.  Hi second release, “ The Project,”  was also a massive hit with the single, Push It Up (Aaja Kuriye)" featuring Juggy D and Jay Sean  hit  number one the  BBC Asian Network Chart.
